#3 Training Videos

There are a lot of resources on the Canvas site to answer your questions, explain features and processes, and to provide training instructions for both faculty and students. There can all be found by clicking on HELP in the upper right hand corner.

  • Once you click help a box will appear with several links. The first one you are interested in is at the top "Search the Canvas Guides." The Guides are also located here: http://guides.instructure.com/
  • The first category is "Getting Started." Here you get the basics for faculty and student to set up their accounts.
  • Next are the "Canvas Guides." There are for different user groups. Each guide has detailed instructions on using/creating Canvas features. These guides are searchable - and the search function works quite well.
  • The last category is "Video Tutorials." Here are short videos on using/creating Canvas features.

You can also access the "Canvas Community" (see banner at top or via the first navigation page after clicking on help). This is place to interact with expert users, get tips and tricks, ask questions, and see what changes or new features are coming up.

Finally, you can request features or changes to current features. Instructure does listen and will make changes based on demand. For example, I have been agitating for a change in the gradebook that is actually going to happen soon.
