#8 Many Word Shortcuts also Work in Canvas

Many keyboard shortcuts you use in Word can also be used in the Canvas WYSIWYG interface. These may seem basic to some, but many faculty are unaware of these time savers and use the pull down menus instead. For example:

Spacing

If you are trying to get a single space instead of a double space when typing text, do the following:

Press and hold the shift key while hitting return.

Spell Check

To automatically see spelling options for incorrectly spelled words or add to your dictionary, do the following:

1. Depress the control key and click on the misspelled word.
2. A list of options will appear, select the correct option.

Copy and Pasting

You can copy and paste using these key commands:

1. Highlight the desired text.
2. Select and hold the command key and then hit the letter "c"
3. Move you cursor to the desire location for the paste.
4. Then select and hold the command key and then hit the letter "v"
