#5 Extra Points in Assignments

You can add extra fudge points or extra credit into individual assignments.

In most learning platforms, points awarded cannot exceed the points assigned to a particular assignment. For example, if you give extra credit for early submission or other reasons you would normally need to somehow record those points and add them into an extra credit column.

However, in Canvas, you can add the extra points in without impacting the total available points for that assignment, category, or the class as a whole.

For example, if Discussion for the week is worth 20 points, but students can earn 2 points extra credit by posting earlier in the week, you can record the grade as 22/20 and those points will go into the gradebook.
