Your first assignment is to set up a personal blog for this course. You may use any system you prefer but I recommend using Blogger; second choice would be Tumblr. If you already have a personal blog then you need to you set up a separate blog to use exclusively for the course.
Please use your real name on the blog profile otherwise there might be some confusion when grading your work. It will also be helpful to me if you include a recognizable photo of yourself in your profile.
Once your blog has been set up, create a post on your blog entitled "The First Post"; write whatever you feel like saying in that first post, it's just a place holder showing me that you're able to use the blog.
Your blog will mainly be used for posting your homework assignments but you can also post other comments. It's your blog. Remember that myself and your classmates will be reading your blog so use good judgement when you post (e.g., we don't need to know about how hammered you got last night). You are encouraged to read each others blogs, especially if you give each other helpful comments and advice.
When your blog has been set up, send a link to your blog to a friend and ask them to check that the link works (sometimes a privacy setting blocks access). If they confirm that the link is OK then submit the URL address of your blog to complete this assignment.
For this assignment you will submit the web address (URL) of your blog. There should be a button-link on the upper right corner of this page for you to submit the assignment; if that's not there then it's probably that you're not logged in.
