SJSU Faculty Videos (Great Examples & Inspiration!) -2
Here are a few examples from San Jose State faculty who have made fairly straightforward videos, but these are particularly well done. NOTE: Many of Andy's videos are unlisted on YouTube, but I have his (and Mary's!) permission to share these with you.
Deep Dive: Paris Street; Rainy Day, by Andy Wood
Andrew Wood is a professor of Communication Studies. He only learned to use Camtasia late in 2019, and his work is inspirational!
In this video, Andy uses a single image and a few animations to draw student's attention to cultural and historical aspects of a painting. He also employs a bit of music and lively narration to great effect!

Domains of Life, by Mary Poffenroth
Mary is STEM lecturer who teaches biology, but she also facilitates workshops and is a speaker. One of her areas of expertise is on fear. So you can learn a lot from Mary!
This is a great example of a talking head, and how you do NOT need images to make for a very engaging video. Notice her quick and lively pace. I think it's clear she's not winging it. Like Andy's videos, it's pretty obvious that her video is also well planned. (I couldn't help but notice how nice her DSLR camera and corner bookcase setting made for a more a much more polished video than my fabric background quickie on my cell phone!)
