Using Flipgrid for Discussions
Flipgrid is an external tool you can integrate into your Canvas courses. You'll recall it from our very first introductory discussion in this course :-)
It's a lot of fun, and viewing the videos as a kind of playlist feels very light and perhaps more natural than clicking to open different individual individuals posts. While we used it only with the introductions here, it would also lend itself well to brainstorming discussions, for example, and other oral communication activities for which you'd like to set a time limit. Though it's imperfect, the captioning is also closer to the surface, so to speak and easy to use.
To use Flipgrid, you'll first need to create a free educator account Links to an external site..
Below you'll find a succinct guide for integrating Flipgrid into your Canvas course. Please reach out to the eCampus team Links to an external site. to let them know you'll be using Flipgrid, and to request any assistance <eCampus@sjsu.edu>. As you saw earlier in this course, there is some language they'll ask you to share with your students.
