Instructor Interaction

If you ever need to reach me over the semester, use the message function located within Canvas (Guide on how to compose and send message in Canvas). You can also use my SJSUe-mail (katerina.potika@sjsu.edu). Either of these options will assure private communications. Please feel free to share with me any special accommodation needs that you might have because of a documented disability (see information about disability services on the course syllabus or Course and Institutional Policy page), or any extenuating circumstance that might arise during the semester that impacts your work in this course. I will get back to you as quickly as possible. During the week this should be within (24) hours, and on weekends within (72) hours. I am extremely invested in your learning and your participation in this course community, so please always feel free to let me know how you are doing.

Discussion Forums: I will read all and comment on some of your discussion forums. There will be times when you did not explain enough for me to give you the full credit. I may comment on your post and give you the opportunity to go more in depth and gain more points. Watch out for that!

Help Forum: I will watch for questions and comments on the Help Forum and will respond as needed.

Grading Assignments: I will try to grade all assignments within a week, but will always have them graded within a week of the due date. I will complete the rubric associated with the activity and will also submit comments to you.

Emails: I will respond to emails within 24 hours unless I let you know that I will be away from Internet access.

Announcements: I will post an announcements with tips, important information, etc. that will help you be successful in the class.

Student Interaction

Discussion Forums: As indicated above, you are required to post to a discussion forum by Friday of some weeks. You must then respond to at least 2 classmates on two different days. You cannot respond on the date you make the original post.

Communication Lounge/Help Forum: Students will use this discussion forum to post questions that the other class members or instructor may be able to answer. Any question or comment about the class that is not confidential should be posted here so all students can see the information and/or respond.

Collaborative Project: The final project will be a group project. Students will be expected to work as a cohesive body to complete the assignment. All work can be completed online utilizing a group discussion forum. Interaction with team members will be imperative for the submission of a high level group project.

Assignment Activities: Students will submit activity assignments and case study assignments.

Please refer to the Netiquette page for generally accepted network etiquette. Please review this material, be familiar with the core principles of netiquette and please follow these guidelines during the term of this course.
