Follow the steps below to plan, research, create, and submit your group project.

Step 1: Meet With Your Group

Begin by discussing:

Your interests and possible career goals
Career pathways connected to your major or field
Each group member’s strengths, experience, and preferred responsibilities

Decide how your group will communicate, share files, divide responsibilities, and keep track of deadlines.

Step 2: Choose Five Careers

Select five careers related to your degree, major, discipline, or field of study. Choose careers that will help your audience understand the range of opportunities available within or connected to your field.

Step 3: Research Each Career

Your group will research five careers related to your degree, major, discipline, or field of study. For each career, your group should identify:

The job title
A brief description of the role
Required skills, education, training, or experience
How the career connects to your major, discipline, or field of study
At least one credible source supporting the information presented

Use credible sources and keep track of where your information comes from. Include useful supporting details such as facts, examples, or statistics when appropriate.

Students may use AI tools to brainstorm career possibilities, identify search terms, organize information, or receive feedback on presentation drafts. Students must independently verify all AI-generated information using credible sources.

Step 4: Choose One Presentation Format

Choose the format that best fits your group’s strengths, available tools, and preferred presentation style.

Option 1: Video

Record a video explaining the five careers your group researched.
Each group member must appear in the video at least once.
You may record with a phone, computer, or another recording device.

Option 2: Slides With Voiceover

Create slides that present the five careers your group researched.
Record a voiceover that explains the information on the slides.
Each group member must present at least one slide.

Option 3: Podcast

Record a podcast explaining the five careers your group researched.
Each group member must speak at least once.
Organize the discussion so it is clear and easy for listeners to follow.

Step 5: Plan and Create Your Recording

Before recording, create an outline, script, or storyboard that shows:

The order in which you will present the careers
The information you will include for each career
Which group member is responsible for each section
How you will introduce and conclude the project

Practice before making the final recording. Check that the information is clear, the transitions make sense, and the responsibilities are shared across the group.

Recording Requirements

The final recording must be 8–10 minutes long.
All group members must make a meaningful contribution.
The information must be clear, accurate, and well organized.
The audio should be understandable and free from major distractions.
The final project should be easy for the audience to follow.

Suggested Tools

Video: A phone, computer, or recording device; Adobe Express may be used for optional editing.
Slides with voiceover: Adobe Express or a similar presentation and recording tool.
Podcast: Adobe Podcast or a similar audio-recording tool.

Step 6: Reflection

After completing the project, each student reflects individually on their experience

Identify one career that surprised you or challenged an assumption you initially had about your major. What did you initially think, what did you discover, and what evidence changed or expanded your thinking?
If your group used AI: Describe how you used it and identify one piece of AI-generated information that you verified, revised, or did not use. What did this experience teach you about the accuracy, limitations, or ethical use of AI?
If your group did not use AI: Explain why your group chose not to use it and identify one situation in which AI could have been useful for this project.

Step 7: Review and Submit

Before submitting, confirm that your group:

Includes five clear and relevant careers
Provides useful details for each career
Explains how the selected careers connect to the students’ major or field of study
Presents accurate, well-organized information
Uses supporting details, such as facts, examples, or statistics
Creates a final recording that is clear, easy to follow, and within the required time range
Demonstrates meaningful and equitable collaboration with all group members contributing to the project
Uses reliable sources and appropriately acknowledges any digital or AI tools used

Tip: Choose your format early. This will give your group enough time to divide responsibilities, learn the tools, record the project, and revise it before submitting.
