ORIGINAL PROMPT
Evidence: Use only the following
- Williams, Alex. "Move Over, Millennials, Here Comes Generation Z (Links to an external site.)." New York Times
- "Millennials (Links to an external site.)." Wikipedia
- "Digital Native (Links to an external site.)." Wikipedia
In the last class meeting, we discussed the representations of the Millennial generation and the derogatory classification of anyone born in the 1990s. Millennials are often thought to be entitled, narcissistic, lazy, and without ambition. In contrast, according to Alex Williams in "Move Over, Millennials," Generation Z is ambitious enough to capitalize on their own branding, start businesses, understand their buying power, and become one of the wealthiest generations since the Silents. This generation is also marked by continuous distant warfare, 9/11, and persistent upgrade in all technology. This generation likes their screens and has the power to alter the development of new kinds of technology simply by the power of their selfies.
In other words, technology governs the boom of Generation Z.
In an argument essay, respond to Alex Williams' supposition that Generation Z will fix the issues of the Baby Boomers and the Millennials with its access to, approval of, and overwhelming use of technology. Be specific about the forms of technology that may help Generation Z fix society.
This is a formal, scholarly essay which requires a formal tone. For this reason, no use of first or third person will be allowed (you, I, me, our, us, we, etc.). Use properly-formatted paragraphs with appropriate topic sentences and transitional statements.
To support your argument, use quotes with MLA style in-text citations from the three sources listed above. No other outside research is allowed.
Failure to follow the above directions will result in a severely reduced grade.
