Welcome to Carbon Capture and Utilization

This course is designed to be an online course introducing the topic of carbon capture and utilization (CCUS) and Direct Air Capture (DAC). This one semester course will step through the need for carbon capture, the technical and infrastructure development needed, and the techno-economic synergies to deploy at scale with sustainable business models to get us to carbon negative by 2050, and begin a long period of "drawdown". The course will include YouTube video, assigned white paper readings, and use Carbon Capture, Springer, (2012), as a reference text. Carbon Capture, by Howard J.Herzog, (2018) MIT Press will be the only "required" textbook for the course. I'm also reading CDR Primer, by Wilcox, Kolosz, and Freeman, which you can read online.
