Instructions
Though this module is short, we hope it helps guide you in remediating or replacing your inaccessible PDFs. Thank you for taking this important step. You can imagine how much easier this makes homework and assignments for your students.
Step 1: Reflect
For this reflection, please take a moment to consider the following questions.
- Go to your Canvas course and select Ally Course Accessibility Report in the left navigation menu. Then select the “Fix Low Scoring Content” button. How many issues do your PDFs have? In general what kinds of issues do they have?
- Select two or more inaccessible PDFs. How will you approach remediating them in your course?
- If you’ve already remediated some of your PDFs, describe the steps you took.
- Have you ever reached out to your subject librarian Links to an external site.? If so, explain how they assisted you.
If you would like to use our sample inaccessible PDF, please see: Chapter 1: Leadership and the Birth of Global Leadership. Links to an external site. View its accessibility in Adobe Acrobat Pro or by uploading it to Canvas and viewing Ally's guidance. Then reflect on how you might remediate it.
Step 2: Post your Reflection
Select the reply button below and post your main takeaways about the reflection questions above. You will be assessed using the Accessible Materials Rubric. Please view it before beginning your post. Feel free to read through and reply on your colleagues' posts.
