Informative/Persuasive Topic Proposal

Please bring to class your completed work.

  1. What is your topic for the persuasive speech?
  2. What is your thesis (proposition of public policy) for the persuasive speech?
  3. What is the status quo (current situation) regarding your policy statement?
  4. What is wrong with the status quo?  Why do you want to make a change?
  5. Whose domain is, or what public body is, responsible for upholding the status quo?
  6. Who, what agent, would be able to make, or enact a change to the status quo?
  7. What type of audience (the majority) are you facing? Favorable, Unfavorable, or Neutral. If neutral, why? (3 reasons why they could be). Answer this after the mix and mingle. Assignment must be typed.
